Industry Celebrates Load 28 and it’s Revolutionary New Crane.

The Torrens Parade Ground was lit up in a sea of black, white and red at Load 28’s 230ton Crane Launch last Thursday.

The exclusive event was attended by close to 100 industry leaders and stakeholders, there to celebrate Load 28’s ongoing achievements in the industry and their latest acquisition – the Liebherr LTM1230 crane.

The Hon. Corey Wingard, Minister for Infrastructure and Transport was in attendance and updated guests on the future of building and construction in South Australia and congratulated Load 28 for their innovative thinking and forward planning with the significant purchase of their new crane.

Load 28 Managing Director Marcus Rigney spoke proudly and passionately as he thanked the “Load 28 family” for their efforts in helping him achieve such a magnificent milestone in his business.

“This machine rounds off our fleet and ensures that we can provide an end-to-end solution for our clients,” Marcus Rigney said.

“When my brother Tom and I made the decision to purchase the Liebherr 230ton crane it wasn’t about being the biggest crane provider in the industry, but the best. The Liebherr LTM1230 employs the very best technology to keep us safe and efficient when managing lift and carry operations on your site,” Marcus said.

Liebherr Australia General Manager Andrew Esquilant spoke via video link from Sydney about the outstanding new technological features of the crane and how it is set to impact the way business is operating in the building, construction and civil sectors.

Some key features of the LTM1230 include:

  • Smaller than its predecessor but with a larger boom height and significant higher boom capacity;
  • VarioBase technology which calculates maximum lifting capacities in terms of real time location on the support base, ensuring greater efficiency on site;
  • VarioBallast technology that ensures 20% more lifting capacity than its rival cranes.

According to Marcus Rigney the new features of this crane means it boasts a higher capacity, more efficiency and a longer reach than other cranes of its type in the market.

It wasn’t all work and no play though; guests at the event were treated to energetic entertainment from Parkour group and aerial artists Circobats and enjoyed delicious food and drinks whilst networking with industry colleagues.

TC4
IJ PROJECTS

Check out Load 28 Supervisor Luke showcasing our recent TC4 climb for valued client IJ Projects. Coordinated and focused, our amazing rigging team managed this lift so efficiently and safely.

This is not an easy project, as we are working with some close tolerances in the core, but true to Load 28’s innovative mindset, we designed a new chocking method to ensure we keep everything stable and safe throughout our climb.

TC3
TANDEM BUILDING GROUP

One should never underestimate the value and importance of positive client feedback.

Our TC3 went in the air successfully mid-March for our esteemed client Tandem Building Group for their 88 O’Connell Street project.

The feedback we received: “The boys smashed it today mate. Awesome crew.”
You can’t ask for much better than that!

PJC TC1
PJC CONSTRUCT

PJC Construct utilised the services of Load 28 to assist them with the installation of their Tower Crane. We were engaged to service, repair, install and commission the crane and handover to PJC ready to operate.

Our technical team worked hard to prepare the unit safely, and will continue to service and maintain the equipment for the duration of the project.

CRANES AND TRAINS
STEAMRANGER

We love working alongside our valued client Steamranger Heritage Railway.

Check out the video above to hear from Oliver at Streamranger discussing our recent lift of their 621 large steam locomotive at Mount Barker.

Using the power of our fleet, including our 230 ton Liebherr and our 130 ton Liebherr, we managed the job safely and efficiently. As Oliver says, the team from Load 28 worked “patiently” and “perceptively” and “listened to their needs really well”.

Well done lads. Collaboration and teamwork at its finest.
