Building South Australia Together
Big things are happening in South Australia with new projects in affordable housing and infrastructure just around the corner. But there is no denying that while the construction industry is set to see vast growth over the coming years, there are some real challenges looming; including the skills shortage that impacts our ability to get key projects over the line.
It’s no secret that we can’t do it all on our own. This is where collaboration comes in; we have a better shot at success if we partner together and support each other as a united subcontractor trade base. Working side by side, we can fill the skills gap, share resources, and keep projects on track.
The benefits for South Australian subcontractors working together and combining our skills and resources is vast. It provides us with the ability to tackle some of the larger infrastructure projects that may otherwise be allocated to interstate businesses. By keeping jobs and project opportunities local, the money stays in our community, building the future for all South Australians, helping our families and supporting our local businesses.
Ensuring Early Sub Contractor Involvement (EsCI) by builders is also key. From a contractor’s perspective, if we are engaged earlier in the planning process, by way of a letter of intent, we have more time to prepare and provide the best possible solution for our clients. It allows us the ability to think outside the square, to find more cost-effective solutions, that may see us partnering with our fellow contractors. Both the builder and the contractor benefit from this pathway.
Take Load 28’s recent collaboration with Fleurieu Cranes on our valued client IJ Project’s Waymouth street project. By combining our strengths and working as one team, we executed a smooth, safe and successful tower crane removal. This is the kind of teamwork that makes a difference!
So let’s work together to build a stronger future for our State and all South Australians.
