Do You Need a Lift?
Mental Health Morning – 7:30am Mondays for Breakfast | Attendance is FREE!
The prevalence of poor mental health in the building and construction industry is alarming.
As an industry dominated by men, there is a macho culture that exists that creates a stigma around men speaking up about problems or issues they may be facing in their lives.
Managers within the industry are faced with the added pressures of greater responsibility and managing people, often carrying the heavy weight of others, to the detriment of their own needs.
‘Do You Need a Lift’ is a mental health program targeted to the building and construction industry that aims to provide attendees with mental health strategies for dealing with stress and crisis. The program delivery will be an open conversation based on the following five steps;
- See it as it is, but don’t see it worse than it is
- Get to the truth and deal with it
- Get a vision and get strong
- Find a role model and learn from others
- Give much more than you expect to receive
Who will benefit?
Those that specifically deal with the management of people within the building and construction industry such as Supervisors, Project Managers, Estimators & Site Managers etc.
